The weather is heating up, and that means new episodes of “The Voice” on NBC. There won’t be too many changes at the judges’ table for the upcoming shows, with Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton all returning as coaches for season 17.
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition is also welcoming back Carson Daly as host.
The current season continues with the Top 8 performance show on May 13th, so be sure to set a reminder if you have been following along. The Top 8 artists perform in front of the coaches for America’s vote, and in a “Voice” first, the Top 8 will pair up to perform duets on songs from the Beatles, history’s most celebrated band. It will be interesting to see which of the four groups do the best, and who has a hard time paring off with one another.
The Top 4 finalists will be revealed on the live show airing on May 14th, again on NBC.
This season the Monday and Tuesday editions of “The Voice” are averaging about 11.1M viewers overall in “live plus seven day” Nielsen ratings. The Monday edition has won the timeslot versus regular broadcast competition with 22 of 23 telecasts to date in 18-49 (“live plus same day”) and leads the timeslot versus regular Big 4 competition in every key ratings category.
Fans still have the rest of season 16, which will continue throughout the month.
“The Voice” is a presentation of MGM Television, Talpa Media USA Inc., Warner Horizon Unscripted & Alternative Television. The series was created by John de Mol, who serves as executive producer along with John de Mol, Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson and Stijn Bakkers.
