Bella Thorne joined another horror-thriller, this time from director Scooter Corkle. Called “The Friendship Game,” Corkle is directing from a script written by Damien Ober. Filming should begin this year in Canada and is expected to start sometime in August.
The story follows a group of teens in a small town as they come across a strange object that tests their loyalties to each other. As the game progresses, the friends are tested again and again, with increasingly destructive consequences.
Thorne, Ober, Gabriel Chicoine, Zak Kilberg, Tannaz Anisi, and Greg Schenz serve as executive producers on the movie, with Daniel Bekerman serving as a producer.
Thorne seems to prefer horror films and thrillers these days. Over the past few years, the actor starred in “Amityville: The Awakening;” “The Babysitter;” “Assassination Nation;” “Ride;” and “I Still See You.” Thorne has mixed it up a bit, also starring in the rom-com “Midnight Sun” with Patrick Schwarzenegger and Rob Riggle. You can also see Thorne on TV in “Conrad & Michelle: If Words Could Kill,” and the recent Freeform series “Famous in Love.” Thorne’s been promoting her recent book, The Life of a Wannabe Mogul: Mental Disarray, which is available right here on Amazon.
Fans can see Bella Thorne in the movie “Leave Not One Alive,” from writer and director Jordan Galland. Melissa Leo and Jake Weary also star in that project.
The studio stopped short of announcing a release date for the film, so fans will have to wait a little longer to find out when “The Friendship Game” is coming to a theater near you. Once production starts, the studio will confirm the other stars in the thriller.
