The fake Beverly Hills 90210 reunion special is premiering on August 7th, and FOX released the first promotional video for the new event. Going by the title “BH90210,” the six-episode event series features original series stars Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling.

The cast is reuniting, but the special is all staged. The cast will be playing “heightened versions of themselves” according to the network, and everyone is going by approved script.

FOX detailed the new series adding, “Having gone their separate ways since the original series ended 19 years ago, Jason, Shannen, Jennie, Ian, Gabrielle, Brian and Tori reunite when one of them suggests it’s time to get a “Beverly Hills, 90210” reboot up and running.” The network continued, “But getting it going may make for an even more delicious soap than the reboot itself. What will happen when first loves, old romances, friends and frenemies come back together, as this iconic cast – whom the whole world watched grow up together – attempts to continue from where they left off?”

The original “Beverly Hills, 90210” premiered on FOX back in 1990 and ran for 10 seasons. “BH90210” will be produced by CBS Television Studios and FOX Entertainment.

Patrick Sean Smith, Chris Alberghini, and Mike Chessler are executive producers alongside Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling, and Ian Ziering.

While it’s expected, FOX hasn’t confirmed what the network has planned to honor Luke Perry, who passed away back in March of this year. Before his passing, Perry was onboard to star in “BH90210.” After his death, former co-star Shannen Doherty agreed to join.
