Disney has set a digital and Blu-ray release date for “Captain Marvel.” The film will first release on digital on May 28th, followed by the Blu-ray release on June 11th.
The Marvel installment did very well in theaters, and it was the seventh Marvel film of all time to reach the $1B mark worldwide. “Captain Marvel” made $421M domestically, and over $1.12B globally. “Captain Marvel” is only the third solo-installment to reach the milestone, fourth if you count “Captain America: Civil War” as a solo installment and not a team up movie. “Iron Man 3” was the first solo-installment to reach $1B, followed by “Captain America: Civil War” with $1.1B, and “Black Panther” with $1.3B.
Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, “Captain Marvel” features Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, and Annette Bening.
“Captain Marvel” follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. When a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
Meanwhile, “Avengers: Endgame” is still going strong at the box office. The final installment in the Infinity Stones saga has made over $2.27B worldwide in just two weeks. Joe and Anthony Russo directed that film for the studio, which features Brie Larson, Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Karen Gillan, Paul Rudd, Josh Brolin, Bradley Cooper, Elizabeth Olsen, Evangeline Lilly, Chadwick Boseman, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tessa Thompson, Don Cheadle, Zoe Saldana, Anthony Mackie, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Chris Pratt.
