If you have ever considered converting to a wireless keyboard and mouse setup, you won’t find anything better than Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless system. The devices offer incredible customization options, long battery life, and operate almost exactly as their wired counterparts. This week, Logitech introduced the G502 Lightspeed model, offering an upgrade for one of the company’s most popular mouse options.

Part of Logitech’s gaming brand, Logitech G, the G502 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse offers pro-grade wireless performance with a premium price tag.

If you’re new to the technologies that Logitech is offering, there are two major updates to know about: Lightspeed and Powerplay. Lightspeed offers “a faster-than-wired” gaming experience according to the company, with an end-to-end optimized wireless connection. As someone who switched to the G703 Wireless mouse and the G613 Wireless Keyboard, I can say that I have never noticed a difference when using the Lightspeed models when comparing them to a wired connection. The Powerplay system is a wireless charging system for continuous charging, even while gaming.

“Ultimately, no mouse better symbolizes the global love affair we have with gamers and gamers have with their gear than our G502,” said Ujesh Desai, vice president and general manager of Logitech Gaming. “Since we launched our first Lightspeed gaming mouse, fans have been asking us when we’d launch a new version of the G502. With today’s introduction we’ve delivered what they’ve asked for and more.”

On the outside, the G502 Lightspeed offers the same shape and feature set as the original. Underneath the hood, you’ll find the Lightspeed and Powerplay tech that makes up the bulk of the upgrade. The new G502 offers Logitech’s High Efficiency Rated Optical (HERO) 16K sensor, one of the best in the business. The sensor provides sensitivity up to 16,000 DPI, and tracks at 400+ IPS with no acceleration, filtering or smoothing. The new model is also lighter, featuring an improved thin-wall design that allows for more space in the interior of the mouse to house the upgraded tech.

The mouse has 11 programmable buttons that can be customized through Logitech G HUB Software. You can assign these buttons to perform individual actions or assign macros to them. Additionally, the mouse features a dual-mode Hyper-fast scroll wheel and an adjustable weight system with six weights (4 x 2g and 2 x 4g) allowing users to adjust the weight and balance of the mouse as they see fit. You’ll also find textured rubber side grips.

While it comes in black, you’ll be going green. The plastic is PVC free, and the new model has a Plastic Neutral Certification. This means that with every purchase, Logitech helps fund Plastic Bank programs that help remove ocean-bound plastic from the environment.

The Logitech G502 Lightspeed model is launching in May 2019 for a suggested retail price of $149. You can find a collection of Logitech and Logitech Lightspeed models right here on Amazon.
