The CW picked up the “Batwoman” series, bringing Ruby Rose to the network full-time. To celebrate the series order, the network released a short teaser trailer to get DC fans excited for the big premiere.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen Ruby Rose as Batwoman, the actor played the role during the “Elsewords” Arrow-verse crossover event earlier this year. This is the first time that a gay character has ever taken the lead in a live-action superhero series, solidifying Ruby Rose’s place in DC history. The network stopped short of announcing a premiere date for the new season, but will most likely use the premiere of “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” or “Arrow” as a lead-in for the new show.

The CW announced the new trailer on social media, telling followers, “Batwoman is coming soon to The CW!”

“Batwoman” will join the other DC hits on The CW, a list that seems to expand every year. The list currently includes “The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Supergirl,” “Black Lightning,” “Batwoman,” and “Arrow.” The network has done a great job at balancing traditional YA dramas and comedies with its DC lineup. Outside of the DC world, the CW offers hit shows like “Riverdale,” “Supernatural,” “Jane The Virgin,” “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “The 100,” “iZombie,” “Dynasty,” “In the Dark,” and the new sci-fi series “Roswell, New Mexico.”

Hopefully, we will get a premiere date and a few more trailers for “Batwoman: Season 1” over the next few weeks. Until then, DC fans should be happy to know that Gotham is protected. As for fans of Ruby Rose, they can see her in Ryûhei Kitamura’s “Doorman” action-thriller. Lior Chefetz and Joe Swanson wrote the screenplay for the film, which also stars Katie Holmes and Jean Reno.
