Pokémon fans twice the Detective Pokémon content this weekend. To celebrate the premiere of the upcoming movie on May 10th, the Pokémon Company is bringing a wide array of movie-inspired in-game activities and content to the mobile game Pokémon GO. Players can look forward to catching a Pikachu wearing a detective hat, after getting photobombed by the Pokémon, and they will find more encounters with select Pokémon featured in the film. There will also be special Raid Battles and Field Research.

“We’re excited for fans around the world to immerse themselves in the latest Pokémon adventure with ‘POKÉMON Detective Pikachu,’” said J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokémon Company International. “We look forward to celebrating the first live-action film with fun new experiences in Pokémon GO.”

The event will run between May 7th and May 17th. On those dates customers can find the Detective Hat Pikachu; unique encounters with Pokémon from the movie; special raid battles; and new avatar items.

To find the Detective Hat Pikachu, use GO Snapshot, and you may get photobombed by a Pikachu wearing a detective hat. After that, you are then able to catch the Pokémon. The Pokémon from the movie include Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Psyduck, Aipom, Snubbull, and others. They will appear more frequently in the game thanks to the promotion, and players may also have opportunities to catch a Shiny Aipom. Players will be able to participate in Raid Battles that challenge Pokémon with starring roles in the film, as well as movie-inspired Field Research. Fans will also be able to customize their in-game avatars with movie-themed items, including a detective hat with Pikachu ears and a T-shirt featuring the “Pokémon Detective Pikachu” logo.
