Happy Star Wars day and May the Fourth be with you. To celebrate the special fan holiday, Disney has unveiled the new books that will release over the next few months, all leading up to the events of “Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker.” There are options for everyone, spanning ages from kids to adults, so everyone can join in on the hype for the final Skywalker installment. Over twenty new releases are scheduled, with products ranging from comics and picture books, to behind-the-scenes concept art and reference guides for the upcoming movie. Housed under “Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” the books and comics are connected to the upcoming film, which will hit theaters this December.

“The Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker publishing program is our biggest and boldest film tie-in program yet,” Michael Siglain, Lucasfilm’s creative director of publishing, explained on the official StarWars site. “We’ve got exceptionally talented authors, artists, and publishers creating content for fans of all ages.”

Fans will be able to pre-order the titles as early as next week, but the company offered up new descriptions and titles to get Padawans excited for the new material. While there are several children’s books and art collections in today’s announcement, we are going to focus on the major releases.

Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Resistance Reborn” is an adult novel from Rebecca Roanhorse. Scheduled to release on November 12th, the site describes the novel adding, “In this Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker novel, Poe Dameron, General Leia Organa, Rey, and Finn must struggle to rebuild the Resistance after their defeat at the hands of the First Order in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.”

Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Force Collector” was written by Kevin Shinick and the YA novel will release on November 19th. The official description reads, “set just before The Force Awakens, a restless teenager sets out to discover what connection his mysterious Force powers have to the fabled Jedi and what the Force has in store for him.”

Current Star Wars readers shouldn’t forget that “Thrawn: Treason” is coming out this July. The big installment is also available for pre-order right now.

Comic book readers can look for “Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Allegiance ,” from writer Ethan Sacks and artist Luke Ross. The description for the comic mini-series reads, “On the run since the destruction of the Starkiller Base, General Leia and the remaining handful of Resistance have barely managed to survive, much less strike back against the superior forces of the First Order. Running low on options, Leia decides to reach out to her former allies, the Mon Calamari, whose shipyards once powered the Rebel Alliance.”

A few of the other big releases include encyclopedias, art compilations, comics, reference material, children’s sticker books, and pop-up books. You can celebrate Star Wars day on your own with a wide array of books, toys, digital and blu-ray releases, and rentals that are currently on sale on Amazon today. You can find the collection right here on Amazon.

As for the movie, “Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker,” that installment is hitting theaters in December. The cast includes Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Billie Lourd, and Kelly Marie Tran. The new film will add Keri Russell and Billy Dee Williams to the story as well. The odds are good that Mark Hamill will appear somewhere in the movie, and the project used earlier works with the late Carrie Fisher to close her role in the story.
