Over the past two years, Alexander Skarsgård has chosen several winning roles in both television and film, and fans can’t seem to get enough of the actor. IMDb presented the STARmeter Award to Skarsgård during the IMDbPro party after the world premiere of his film “The Kill Team” during the Tribeca Film Festival this week. Skarsgård is the first-ever recipient of the award at the Tribeca Film Festival, which takes place in our very own New York City.

The IMDb STARmeter Awards recognize fan favorites on the IMDbPro STARmeter chart, which is determined by the page views of the more than 250M unique monthly visitors to IMDb worldwide. Skarsgård took the the top prize, and has the trophy to prove his popularity.

Alexander Skarsgård joins previous winners like Skarsgård’s brother, Bill, as well as Sam Rockwell, Tatiana Maslany, Brie Larson, Felicity Jones, Olivia Wilde, Bryce Dallas Howard, Peter Dinklage, Miles Teller and Mindy Kaling. His brother Bill won the award in January 2018, making the Skarsgårds the first siblings to have each received the award.

Skarsgård has had a terrific career in both television and movies. You may know him from his role on “Big Little Lies,” “Melancholia,” “The Legend of Tarzan,” “The Little Drummer Girl,” “Hold the Dark,” “True Blood,” “The Hummingbird Project,” or “The Aftermath.”

Dan Krauss wrote and directed the war drama “The Kill Team.” Skarsgård stars in the film alongside Nat Wolff and Adam Long. Adam Wingard directed Skarsgård in the upcoming “Godzilla vs Kong” installment, which is set to premiere in theaters on March 13, 2020. That film features Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Kyle Chandler, and Ziyi Zhang.

Fans will get to see “Godzilla: King of the Monsters ” before the Godzilla takes on Kong. Michael Dougherty directed that installment which stars Charles Dance, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Ziyi Zhang, Kyle Chandler, Thomas Middleditch, and Ken Watanabe.
