Zachary Levi is following up his debut of “Shazam!” by hosting the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards. The big event goes live on June 17th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Previous MTV Movie & TV Hosts include Tiffany Haddish, Adam Devine, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer, Conan O’Brien, Rebel Wilson, Russell Brand, Jason Sudeikis, and Andy Samberg.

While Levi is enjoying some time away from the set, “Shazam!” is still flying high at the box office. The DC installment landed in second-place on the domestic charts last weekend and has grossed over $321M worldwide in just three weeks. The film is off to a great start, but still has a long way to go to catch up with the other DC Extended Universe films. “Aquaman” currently leads the DCEU in worldwide gross with $1.14B; followed by “Batman v Superman” with $873M and “Wonder Woman” with $821M. Outside of the top three, there is “Suicide Squad” with $746M, “Man of Steel” with $668M, and “Justice League” with $657M.

“Shazam” wasn’t Levi’s first superhero film, the actor played the role of Fandral in Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World.”

Before “Shazam!” fans knew Levi as Chuck Bartowski in the popular television series “Chuck.” Levi recently took the role of Benjamin in the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” for which he took home a SAG Award for “Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series.”

MTV also confirmed that the 2019 categories and nominees will be announced in the coming weeks.
