Netflix released a first-look trailer for “The Last Summer,” a new movie coming to the platform on May 3rd. The film features an all-star lineup of YA talent, including K.J. Apa, Maia Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage, Sosie Bacon, Wolfgang Novogratz, Gabrielle Anwar, Ed Quinn, Jacob McCarthy, Mario Revolori, Gage Golightly, Norman Johnson, Jr., and Tyler Posey.

Netflix described the film on social-media adding, “Standing on the precipice of adulthood, a group of friends navigate new relationships, while reexamining others, during their final summer before college.”

“The Last Summer” is directed by William Bindley, who also co-wrote the film with Scott Bindley. The film is produced by Mike Karz, William Bindley and Wayne Rice. If you’re looking for a new teen summer romance-drama, you can watch the trailer below and see if “Last Summer” is the perfect fit for you.

The cast is a whos-who of the young-adult television world right now. Fans know K.J. Apa best as Archie Andrews in CW’s “Riverdale” series, while Maia Mitchell is currently killing it on Freeform’s “Good Trouble.” Jacob Latimore took the role of Emmett in “The Chi,” and Halston Sage plays the role of Lt. Alara Kitan in FOX’s “The Orville.”

Sosie Bacon was featured in both “Charlie Says” and “13 Reasons Why,” while Tyler Posey grew to fame in “Teen Wolf,” “Scream: The TV Series,” and “Now Apocalypse.”

With summer right around the corner, it’s nice to see Netflix stocking up on original series. TV’s summer programming usually consists of reality dating shows, game shows, and baseball, so it will be nice to have new original movies to watch when it’s too hot to go outside again. If you want to set a reminder, “Last Summer” hits Netflix on May 3rd.
