Chloë Grace Moretz’s ‘Greta’ Goes Digital in May
The thriller “Greta” starring Chloë Grace Moretz now has a digital release date. The film will first release on Digital HD on May 14th, followed by the Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand version on May 28th. “Greta” follows a kind and caring young woman who befriends a widow with a dark secret.
The film hit theaters back in March, releasing against “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral” while “How to Train Your Dragon: A Hidden World” and “Alita: Battle Angel” were dominating the domestic charts. “Greta” opened in 2,411 locations and made $4.4M on opening weekend. The film went on to make over $11.2M worldwide for Focus Features.
Academy Award-winner Neil Jordan (The Crying Game) directed the film, which stars Academy Award nominee Isabelle Huppert (Elle, La Cérémonie) and Chloë Grace Moretz (The Miseducation of Cameron Post, Neighbors 2) alongside actress Maika Monroe (It Follows, Independence Day: Resurgence).
The story centers around a naïve young woman trying to make it on her own in New York City, Frances (Moretz) doesn’t think twice about returning the handbag she finds on the subway to its rightful owner. That owner is Greta (Huppert), an eccentric French piano teacher with a love for classical music and aching loneliness. Having recently lost her mother, Frances quickly grows closer to widowed Greta. The two become fast friends — but Greta’s maternal charms begin to dissolve and grow increasingly disturbing as Frances discovers that nothing in Greta’s life is what it seems.
