Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini star in the first-look trailer for “Dead to Me,” a dark-comedy series coming to Netflix on May 3rd. In the new show, Jen (Christina Applegate) is a widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder. She befriends Judy (Linda Cardellini), an optimistic free spirit who’s recently suffered her own tragic loss.
Netflix described the series adding, “When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond over bottles of wine, Entenmann’s cookies and a shared affinity for The Facts of Life, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.”
Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls, One Big Happy) created “Dead to Me” and serves as an executive producer. The series stars Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, James Marsden, Ed Asner, and Brandon Scott.
Jessica Elbaum (Gloria Sanchez Prods.), Christie Smith and Christina Applegate also serve as executive producers, in addition to Adam McKay and Will Ferrell for Gloria Sanchez Productions.
“Dead to Me” is produced by CBS Television Studios for Netflix.
Earlier this month Netflix announced that principal photography began on Academy Award Winner Charlie Kaufman’s (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) film adaptation of Iain Reid’s best-selling novel “I’m Thinking of Ending Things.” Kaufman will write and direct the project for Netflix, which stars Jesse Plemons (Vice, The Post), Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Beast), Toni Collette (Velvet Buzzsaw, Hereditary) and David Thewlis (Anomalisa, Wonder Woman).
Netflix hasn’t announced a release date for that adaptation, but more information should be released over the next few weeks. Once the film moves along in production, we will start getting a few teasers from Netflix.
