CBS has set premiere dates for the network’s summer dramas, including the new action-adventure series “Blood & Treasure.” This summer will be bittersweet for “Elementary” fans since it’s the seventh and final season of the show, but there will be a second season of Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic’s “Instinct” to look forward to watching.
Starting with “Blood & Treasure,” the new series will begin with a special two-hour premiere episode on May 21st, using the season finale of “NCIS” as the lead-in. The “NCIS: New Orleans” season finale will move up one week to May 14th on the schedule to make room for the premiere. Following the two-hour debut, “Blood & Treasure” will air its regular time period on May 28th.
If you haven’t heard about the series yet, the drama stars Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas. Barr plays a brilliant antiquities expert and Pernas plays a cunning art thief. The duo team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. As they crisscross the globe hunting their target, they unexpectedly find themselves at the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.
“Blood & Treasure” also stars Michael James Shaw, Katia Winter, James Callis, Oded Fehr, Alicia Coppola, and Mark Gagliardi. Matthew Federman, Stephen Scaia, Taylor Elmore, Ben Silverman, Marc Webb, Mark Vlasic, Howard T. Owens and Michael Dinner (episode 1 only) are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Propagate Content.
“Elementary” will begin its final season on May 23rd. In season seven, Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Watson’s (Lucy Liu) new careers as consultants for Scotland Yard are disrupted by news that a member of their inner circle has been gravely wounded in the United States. As Holmes’ stateside legal trouble – the result of a confession to a murder he didn’t commit – threatens to keep them from returning to New York, their greatest foe to date, tech billionaire Odin Reichenbach (James Frain), waits on the horizon to test their limits.
Fans of “Instinct” can catch the premiere of Season 2 on June 16th. In season two, NYPD consultant Dylan Reinhart (Alan Cumming) is reinstated after being put on leave, just in time to join his partner, NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Bojana Novakovic), on their new case, the “Sleeping Beauty Killer.” The show was a major performer last year for the network, reaching nearly 9M viewers each week for CBS. The show also features Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews and Sharon Leal.
Michael Rauch, Marc Webb, Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin (Secret Hideout), James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Alan Cumming are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. The series is based on the novel by bestselling author James Patterson.
