‘Marvel’s Runaways’ Coming Back for Season 3
Hulu is bringing back “Marvel’s Runaways” for a third season. The show confirmed the season three pick-up on social media on Sunday night, telling fans “Heard our Old Lace loud and clear. See you all for Season 3!” Season three will bring back showrunners and writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and the Runaways will have a new set of adventures and dangers to face. Marvel TV and ABC Signature ordered ten episodes for the next season, which is three episodes less than the first two seasons of the show.
With Netflix cutting ties with the Marvel universe, Hulu and Freeform are the remaining platforms to stream current Marvel shows. The new Disney+ streaming service will launch new Marvel TV series that are connected to the MCU, but since Disney controls a large portion of Hulu, there’s a good chance that Marvel shows will continue on the platform as well.
Disney announced several animated Marvel shows that are headed to Hulu. The new adult animation series include “Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K,” “Marvel’s Hit-Monkey,” “Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show,” and “Marvel’s Howard The Duck.” The four originals will culminate in a special event on Hulu called “Marvel’s The Offenders.” It’s the same launch system that Marvel used for “The Defenders” on Netflix, which introduced Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones.
As for “Marvel’s The Runaways,” the series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Ariela Barer, Lyrica Okano, Gregg Sulkin, Virginia Gardner, and Allegra Acosta. Josh Schwartz, Jeph Loeb, and Stephanie Savage serve as executive producers on the show.
Hulu didn’t announce a premiere date for the third season at this time, but more information should be released over the next few months. At least fans know that the show isn’t cancelled, and that they are getting ten new episodes.
