The CW is pulling the plug on its longing running series to date. “Supernatural” is coming to an end after season 15 and fans are a little heartbroken on social media. Viewers will get a 20 episode season to say goodbye; then the show will live on in syndication heaven. Members of the crew, including Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins confirmed the show’s ending in a video posted on social media.
In the end, “Supernatural” will have aired 327 episodes, an impressive run for any show. The series is still going out on top, ranking as the longest running sci-fi series to ever hit the small-screen here in America. The show made it’s big debut back in 2005 and the Winchester brothers never faltered from their fans. They slew countless demons and had quite a few laughs, but it looks the adventures are coming to an end.
The series did celebrate a milestone recently, airing its 300th episode back in February. Despite its age and the constant night-switching that fans had to put up with over the years, the show was the network’s second most-watched series. The only show to beat it was the DC series “The Flash.” The show set a pretty high bar for future CW series, and it will be tough for some fans to say goodbye.
For younger viewers, “Supernatural” has been on the air since they made the jump from cartoons. The #Supernatural topic has been trending on social media outlets throughout the day, with fans expressing their gratitude and shock that the series is finally coming to an end.
On Instagram Jensen Ackles wrote, “Well, it’s official. One more round for the Winchester brothers. Though nothing ever really ends in Supernatural…does it?” ‘
