The ‘To All the Boys’ cast is getting back together, and the sequel is looking better than ever. Netflix announced that Anna Cathcart (The Descendants, Odd Squad), Janel Parrish (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionist) and John Corbett (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) are reuniting with Lana Condor and Noah Centineo for the “All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” sequel on Netflix. The sequel is currently in pre-production and will be released by Netflix.
Just like the original film, the sequel is based on the popular YA “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” trilogy by New York Times Bestselling Author Jenny Han. If you haven’t read the trilogy yet, I highly recommend it. You can find a copy right here on Amazon.
Michael Fimognari, who served as the Director of Photography on the first film, will direct the sequel for Netflix.
In the announcement, Jenny Han stated, “I’m so thrilled and thankful we get to keep telling Lara Jean’s story. I just know that the audience will fall in love with her all over again.”
Susan Johnson added, “Directing To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. Due to the timing of my other projects I won’t be directing the sequel, but as an executive producer, I am looking forward to continuing to share Lara Jean’s story and being part of this franchise.”
Sofia Alvarez is writing the adaptation, which is being produced by Matt Kaplan and executive produced by Robyn Marshall, Max Siemers, Jenny Han, Susan Johnson, Shelley Zimmerman, and Rebecca Glashow.
Awesomeness Films previously partnered with Netflix on 2018’s “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” and 2017’s “You Get Me.”
