‘Avengers Endgame’ TV Spot Expands Captain America’s Speech
Marvel dropped the second “Avengers: Endgame” trailer earlier this month, but the studio is expanding on Captain America’s speech with a new TV spot. While the new video doesn’t show any of the climactic battles that are sure to be in the new movie, you can start your day with a little pep-talk from the Captain.
The 30-second spot features more of the “Whatever it Takes” speech made popular in the previous trailer. That video hit 268M views on YouTube in a single day, reaching second-place on the all-time chart. The only video to beat it was the original “Avengers: Endgame” teaser, which had had 289M views in a single day.
Anthony and Joe Russo, the same team that directed “Avengers: Infinity War,” directed “Avengers: Endgame” for Marvel Studios. The film will feature Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Karen Gillan, Paul Rudd, Josh Brolin, Brie Larson, Bradley Cooper (Voice), Elizabeth Olsen, Evangeline Lilly, Letitia Wright, Chadwick Boseman, and Gwyneth Paltrow. There will most likely be a few surprises as well.
If “Avengers: Endgame” wants to top the opening box office charts for the month of April, it will have to beat “Avengers: Infinity War’s” $257.6M opening set in 2018. “Avengers: Infinity War” went on to make over $678.8M domestically and over $2B worldwide.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s latest release is still flying high in theaters. “Captain Marvel” made $67.9M domestically in its follow-up weekend, and the film has already passed the $760M mark worldwide. Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directed the film for Marvel, and it stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Mckenna Grace, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, and Annette Bening.
Marvel has been using the “Whatever it takes” slogan on social media to promote the film, and fans have been eagerly devouring the new videos and teasers.
“Avengers: Endgame” is scheduled to hit theaters on April 26th.
