Lionsgate has a new trailer for “John Wick 3,” which is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide this May. The movie is the third installment to the popular franchise, and “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” promises more assassins, action-sequences, and probably a higher body count than the previous installments.
“John Wick 3” stars Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Saïd Taghmaoui, Jerome Flynn, Jason Mantzoukas, Tobias Segal, and Boban Marjanovic. The film will also feature Anjelica Huston and Ian McShane.
Directed by Chad Stahelski, the screenplay was written by Derek Kolstad and Shay Hatten, along with Chris Collins and Marc Abrams.
The third movie follows super-assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) after he returns from the events of the sequel with a $14M price tag on his head and an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail. After killing a member of the international assassin’s guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado and is being hunted down by the best of the best.
David Leitch and Chad Stahelski directed the original, which was a runaway hit for Lionsgate back in 2014. “John Wick” opened in second-place that year, behind the horror-thriller “Ouija,” but still made over $14.4M at the box office before going on to make over $88M worldwide. The sequel did even better, opening in third-place behind “The LEGO Batman Movie” and “Fifty Shades Darker” with a $30M debut weekend. “John Wick: Chapter Two” made over $171M worldwide.
Reeves recently released an announcement video for his new project “Bill and Ted Face the Music,” a long-awaited threequel to the “Bill and Ted” franchise.
If you want to set a reminder, “John Wick 3: Parabellum” will hit theaters on May 17, 2019
