‘Lucy in the Sky’ Trailer: Natalie Portman Returns to Earth
FOX Searchlight released a first-look trailer for “Lucy in the Sky” starring Natalie Portman, Jon Hamm, Dan Stevens, Zazie Beetz, Pearl Amanda Dickson, and Ellen Burstyn.
In the film, Natalie Portman plays astronaut Lucy Cola, who returns to Earth after a mission to space. Cola had difficulty adjusting to life after returning from her mission, and the film explores her life with her family and husband back on Earth.
Noah Hawley directed the film for FOX Searchlight, working from a screenplay that he wrote with Brian C Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi.
Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea, Noah Hawley, and John Cameron produced the film.
Natalie Portman recently starred in the musical drama “VOX LUX” back in 2018, a film that was written and directed by Brady Corbet. That film only opened in six locations but still brought in over $155K for the studio on its debut weekend.
Jon Hamm is expected to appear in the “Top Gun: Maverick” movie, a new installment to the “Top Gun” franchise. That movie will star Jennifer Connelly and Tom Cruise and should be ready for June 2020.
Zazie Beetz will appear in the new “Twilight Zone” reboot on CBS All Access; she is also expected to reprise her “Deadpool 2” role of Domino in a new film called “X-Force.” Beetz will also voice a role in the upcoming animated drama “Invincible” about a teenager whose father is the strongest superhero.
FOX Searchlight hasn’t set a premiere date for “Lucy in the Sky” yet, but more information and a few more teasers will be released over the next few months. The studio only gave the “Coming Soon” release date in the video, so Portman fans will have to wait a little longer for the exact date.
