‘Toy Story 4’ Trailer Reunites the Gang

Toy Story 4 + Slanteddisney

Disney and PIXAR dropped the first full-length trailer for “Toy Story 4” this morning. The film is set to release in theaters in June and fans of the long-running franchise can watch the official trailer below to find Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang in their latest adventure. The last time we checked in on the toys was during a brief Super Bowl teaser video, but now fans can watch a full-length video with their favorite characters.

In the new installment, Woody has a hard time finding his place after Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room. The film is a road trip adventure with old and new toys, and the story shows Woody “how big the world can be for a toy” according to Disney.

The very first “Toy Story” hit theaters back in 1995 and the franchise has been a hit with fans ever since. John Lasseter directed the first film, which had a $29M opening before going on to make over $373M worldwide. “Toy Story 2” had a limited-release before hitting theaters nationwide in 1999. The sequel’s nationwide debut brought in $57M for the studio, and the film went on to make over $497M worldwide. “Toy Story 3” hit theaters in 2010 with a $110M opening weekend before making over $1B worldwide for Disney. Now that we have Marvel films hitting the $1B mark every few months that number isn’t quite as impressive as it once was, but back in 2010 it was rare. “Toy Story” fans young and old can watch the new video below.

If you need to set a reminder, Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” hits theaters on June 21, 2019. “Toy Story 4” is opening against Aubrey Plaza’s “Child’s Play” reboot, which doesn’t share the same demographic and probably won’t split the box office for Woody and the gang. The major releases the following week are the horror-thriller “Annabelle Comes Home” and Universal Pictures’ comedy “Yesterday.” Most studios decided not to challenge “Toy Story 4” in theaters, and the next family-friendly film to hit theaters isn’t until July 5th when Tom Holland’s “Spider-Man: Far From Home” hits theaters.
