Liam Neeson’s ‘Cold Pursuit’ Goes Digital in May
Lionsgate will release the thriller “Cold Pursuit” on Digital on May 3, followed by a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on May 14th. The film stars Academy Award nominee Liam Neeson as a father tracking down those responsible for his sons’ murder.
Petter Moland directed the “Cold Pursuit,” which is based on his 2014 Norwegian film “Kraftidioten.” Frank Baldwin wrote the screenplay for this adaptation. Also starring in the movie are Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express), Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum (2005, Best Actress, The Phantom of the Opera), and Academy Award nominee Laura Dern (2014, Best Supporting Actress, Wild).
“Cold Pursuit” hit theaters back in February and did moderately well in theaters. The film opened against “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” “What Men Want,” and “The Prodigy.” The icy-thriller made $11M on its opening weekend before grossing over $58M worldwide.
Liam Neeson has several projects in the works at the moment, the next one to hit theaters is “Men in Black: International” with Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, and Rebecca Ferguson. That film is from Sony Pictures and is scheduled to release in June. Neeson is also starring in “Normal People” with Lesley Manville and David Wilmot, and the crime-drama “Honest Thief” with Kate Walsh and Jai Courtney. Neeson is also set to star in the comedy “Made in Italy” opposite Micheál Richardson, that film was written and directed by James D’Arcy. You can also find Neeson in the political thriller “Charlie Johnson in the Flames” from director Tarik Saleh. A film adaptation of Benjamin Black’s novel “Marlowe” is expected to be made, though we don’t have a confirmation on a director at this time. So far, Neeson is expected to star in that project as well.
