Fandango is Offering Early ‘Shazam!’ Screenings
Warner Bros. Pictures and Fandango are teaming up together to bring “Shazam!” to theaters two-weeks early. Fandango is offering exclusive advance screenings of “Shazam!” on March 23 across 1,200 locations nationwide, and tickets for the limited engagement go on sale today. The promotion is a great way to see the film if you don’t want to wait for the official April 5th release date, and you can grab yours right from Fandango.
“We’re thrilled to work with Warner Bros. on our early access screening program, helping eventize movies and generate buzz before opening weekend,” says Fandango President Paul Yanover. “‘Shazam!’ is a film that appeals to the whole family, and we’re delighted that Fandango VIP fans will be among the first to see the film two weeks before it officially hits theaters.”
Jeff Goldstein, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Domestic Distribution, states, “Fandango is a terrific partner and we’re excited to work with them to bring this film to their VIP members ahead of release. ‘Shazam!’ is not only a great superhero action movie, but a really funny one, full of heart and charm, and we look forward to Fandango audiences being among the very first to experience it on the big screen.”
This isn’t the first time that Fandango users could see a film early, back in February the company offered early screenings of DreamWorks Animation’s “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.”
David F. Sandberg directed “Shazam!,” and the film stars Zachary Levi as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Mark Strong in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, and Asher Angel as Billy Batson. Peter Safran produced the film, which also stars Jack Dylan Grazer and Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou. Set in the DC universe, “Shazam!” is a little more lighthearted than previous DC releases, the screenplay is by Henry Gayden, story by Gayden and Darren Lemke, based on characters from DC.
A New Line Cinema presentation, “Shazam!” will be distributed worldwide in 2D and 3D in theatres and IMAX by Warner Bros. Pictures.
