The new Netflix series “Cursed” is coming together, and the company has announced the cast list and production schedule for the new thriller series. Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Love, Simon) is leading the show for Netflix, which is scheduled to start filming in March 2019 in England and Wales.
“Cursed” is based on the upcoming book of the same name and is a re-imagining of the iconic Arthurian legend. This time, the story is told through the eyes of the young woman who would become the Lady of the Lake.
The series is created and executive produced by Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) and Tom Wheeler (Puss in Boots, The Cape) who is also showrunner and writer. Tom Wheeler will write the companion book ‘Cursed,’ which Frank Miller will illustrate to be published by Simon & Schuster in Fall 2019.
If you like to read the original work before seeing the on-screen adaptation, the book is already available to order right here on Amazon.
Netflix calls “Cursed” a “coming-of-age story with themes familiar to our own time.” These include “the obliteration of the natural world, religious zeal and oppression, senseless war and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible.”
“Curse” features Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgård (Westworld, Vikings), Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead, Medici), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion), and Shalom Brune-Franklin (The State, Our Girl). Also joining the cast are Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles, The Delinquent Season) and Billy Jenkins (The Crown, Holmes & Watson, Humans).
Zetna Fuentes (Ray Donovan, Jessica Jones, The Deuce, Shameless) will direct and serve as an executive producer on the first two episodes. Alex Boden (Sense8, Cloud Atlas) is serving as a producer, Silenn Thomas is serving as co-executive producer.
