Arcade Fire Sings ‘Baby Mine’ in Latest ‘Dumbo’ Tease

Dumbo + Live Action + Slanteddisney

The big live-action adaptation of “Dumbo” is just a few weeks away and Disney has a new video that features Arcade Fire’s new rendition of “Baby Mine.” Tim Burton directed the new adaptation of “Dumbo” for the studio, and the story expands on Disney’s classic tale.

The trailer features Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Finley Hobbins, and Nico Parker.

In the story circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) hires former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. Things pick up when they discover that Dumbo can fly. The flying elephant helps the circus make an incredible comeback, attracting entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits Dumbo for Dreamland. Dumbo soars with aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt finds out that Dreamland has some dark secrets.

The classic animated story of “Dumbo” first hit theaters in 1941 and the new live-action adaptation is just one of many on the way from Disney. After the live-action adaptation of “Dumbo,” the studio will release a new live-action “Mulan” in March 2020. That live-action adaptation will star Donnie Yen, Jet Li, and Yifei Liu as the titular character.

Disney fans should also be on the lookout for “Maleficent 2” in May 2020. The studio is also working on a “Cruella” live-action adaptation with Emma Stone playing Cruella De vil.

“Maleficent 2” was directed by Joachim Rønning and will star Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein, Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville, Sam Riley, and Angelina Jolie. The original “Maleficent” was an instant hit for Disney, making over $69M domestically on opening weekend before grossing over $758M worldwide.

“Dumbo” is flying into theaters on March 29th.
