Marvel Partners with Serial Box to Create Serialized Stories
Marvel and Serial Box are joining forces
If you haven’t given Serial Box a try, now is a pretty great time to test it out. Marvel is partnering up with the service to bring new stories to life for fans all over the world, all in snack-sized portions to keep you entertained for hours. If you’re new to the app, Serial Box is a digital book platform that offers ongoing stories released in installments, available in both audio and digital formats.
The partnership with Marvel will create original stories, also in audiobook and e-book formats, based on Black Panther, Black Widow, Jessica Jones, and Thor. The collaboration will create weekly episodes, about the length of an average commute according to the company. This allows users to listen or read a story on the way to work or school, in the gym, or when you are settling down for the night.
Users can switch between reading and listening with a simple click, picking up right where they left off in either format. Users are encouraged to sample the first episode for free before buying a full season pass.
“We are thrilled that Marvel is entrusting us to extend and expand the story worlds for these beloved characters,” said Molly Barton, CEO and co-founder of Serial Box. “Our writer teams could not be more excited to share the new stories with listeners and readers everywhere.”
“Over the last 80 years, Marvel has grown to become a lifestyle for every kind of fan around the world – but it all started from serialized storytelling,” said John Nee, Publisher of Marvel. “We were impressed by the quality and creativity of Serial Box’s content, and we are excited for both Marvel and Serial Box fans to experience these new stories together each week.”
Audio books have become my personal favorite option after devouring the entire Star Wars collection from Amazon’s Audible. If you haven’t given the format a try, I would highly recommend it.
