‘Glass’ Goes Digital in April
You'll be able to stream GLASS this Spring
The thriller hit “Glass” is releasing on Digital in April, followed by a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD release shortly after. Universal Pictures will release “Glass” on Digital HD on April 2, and the retail versions of the film will release on April 16th.
M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs) wrote and directed “Glass” for the studio. The film stars James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sarah Paulson, and Samuel L. Jackson.
The film is the third installment to the trilogy that started with “Unbreakable” and “Split.” “Glass” did very well in theaters when it debuted back in February; the thriller opened at number-one on the box office charts with a $40M debut before going on to make over $240M worldwide. “Unbreakable” opened in 2000 with a $30M opening before grossing over $248M worldwide for the studio, and “Split” opened in 2017 with a $40M debut before grossing $278M globally.
As we mentioned earlier, M. Night Shyamalan wrote and directed the film, he also served as a producer with Jason Blum.
The April release date will give thriller fans something to stream this Spring, but there will also be several films from the genre hitting the box office that month. The “Pet Sematary” reboot starts off the month of April this year, followed by the A24 thriller “High Life” with Robert Pattinson. “The Curse of La Llorona” and “Under the Silver Lake” will also release in theaters later that month. Thrillers have been a little scarce so far this year, so it’s nice to see the genre coming back to theaters nationwide this spring.
