BBC America’s “Killing Eve” is one of TV’s most highly-anticipated returning series, and the network released a new trailer to get fans excited for the big premiere on April 7th. The new “Killing Eve” Season 2 trailer only teases the new episodes, previewing Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer in their reprising roles as Eve (Oh), an MI6 operative, and psychopath assassin Villanelle (Comer).

Along with returning stars Oh, Comer and Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter), new additions to the cast include Nina Sosanya (Good Omens) and Edward Bluemel (A Discovery of Witches) in series regular roles, with Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Indian Summers) and Shannon Tarbet (Genius) set to guest star.

Beginning just after the end of the final episode of season one, Villanelle has disappeared, and Eve is left reeling, having no idea if the woman she stabbed is alive or dead. With both of them in deep trouble, Eve has to find Villanelle before someone else does…but unfortunately, she’s not the only person looking for her. The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd.

“Killing Eve is picking up exactly 36 heart-thumping seconds after the events of the season finale,” said Sarah Barnett, President of AMC Entertainment Networks. “This new season is packed with superlative performances and is as twisty, subversive, darkly funny, nerve-wracking and pleasurable as our fans could desire.”

The season finale in May was also the #1 most social drama of the day and the show is one of BBC America‘s most critically acclaimed to date.

The series is based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings and is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Gina Mingacci and lead writer Emerald Fennell.

Sandra Oh and Francesca Gardiner are co-executive producers. Elinor Day serves as series producer. Damon Thomas returns to direct and is also executive producer, with Lisa Brühlmann and Francesca Gregorini also directing.
