‘Santa Clarita Diet’ Season 3 Premieres in March
Santa Clarita Diet is coming back this spring
Netflix is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a Season 3 premiere date for the dark comedy “Santa Clarita Diet.” The series will return with all-new episodes on March 29th, and Netflix released a short promotional trailer to go with the announcement.
In the new video, the Hammonds battle with the prospect of “forever,” and there is some light cannibalism. The series has been a consistent hit for Netflix over the last two seasons, and the series stands as one of the few remaining dark comedies on the platform.
If you are new to the show, in Santa Clarita Diet, Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) are a husband and wife realtor duo leading vaguely discontented lives in the L.A. suburb of Santa Clarita with their teenaged daughter Abby (Liv Hewson). Everything is pretty normal until Sheila goes through a dramatic change sending their lives down a road of death and destruction.
Earlier this week Netflix also announced that Roger Kumble (Just Friends, Cruel Intentions) will direct “Falling Inn Love,” and the original will star Christina Milian (Be Cool, The Oath), and Adam Demos (UnREAL). Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy wrote the screenplay for the film, which follows city girl Gabriela (Milian) after she enters a “Win An Inn” contest and winds up with a money pit. Her only option is to fix & flip it. She and the local contractor (Demos) reluctantly team up, and she soon appreciates being part of a community and a true partnership – in both work and love. Principal photography on that project is set to begin this month in New Zealand. Netflix stopped short of announcing a premiere date for the film, but more information will be released as the movie enters into production.
