‘Frozen 2’ Trailer Teases the Big Sequel

Disney released the first teaser trailer for “Frozen 2” this morning, offering the first look at the highly-anticipated sequel that is hitting theaters in November 2019. Academy Award winners Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck directed “Frozen 2” for Walt Disney Studios, and the film features the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad. The movie will also feature the music of Oscar-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, and the film will officially hit theaters on November 22, 2019.
The original “Frozen” opening on the same day back in 2013. The original installment started with a limited debut at the time, before expanding to a nationwide audience on November 27th. The animated-comedy made just $243K during its limited run, but quickly jumped to $67M when it hit theaters nationwide. “Frozen” didn’t debut at number-one though; the film was still behind “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which made $74M in its follow-up weekend. Once “Frozen” fever hit the film dominated the box office, ending its theatrical run with $1.2B worldwide.
Disney is bringing back the same directors, songwriters, and cast for the sequel, so prepare to be singing Frozen lyrics throughout the holiday season this year.

“Frozen 2” will be Disney’s big November release, but it will have a lot of competition. Starting the month is the animated-comedy “Arctic Dogs” with Jeremy Renner, Alec Baldwin, Anjelica Huston, John Cleese, James Franco, and Omar Sy; opening against the “Charlie’s Angels” and a new Terminator movie. Other big releases that month include “Doctor Sleep,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” and a new Kingsman movie.
“Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.
