Just a few moments after Marvel teased “Avengers: Endgame” during the Super Bowl; the studio released a new look at “Captain Marvel,” which is scheduled to release later next month.
The studio has been teasing “Captain Marvel” all weekend, releasing a short action-filled clip on Saturday that featured Carol Danvers fighting on top of a train. The advertising is still ramping up for the movie, and tickets are already on sale. Marvel fans don’t have too long of a wait before “Captain Marvel” hits theaters, the film is scheduled to debut on March 8, 2019.
In “Captain Marvel” Brie Larson plays the titular character. The new MCU installment will also feature Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Ben Mendelsohn, Clark Gregg, and Annette Bening.

Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directed the film, which has a chance to set a new record for a superhero debut. “Captain Marvel” will need to beat “Black Panther” to become the highest-grossing opening for a solo character in the MCU. The king of Wakanda made over $202M on the film’s opening weekend, easily topping the charts in 2018. Robert Downey’s “Iron Man” had a $98M debut at the time of its release, and the “Guardians of the Galaxy” opened with $94M. “Doctor Strange” opened with $85M in 2016, and “Thor” opened with $65.7M over its opening weekend. “Captain America: The First Avenger” opened with $65M and the 2003 version of “The Hulk” had a $62M opening. Marvel’s “Ant-Man’ opened with $57M during the film’s opening weekend.
As we mentioned earlier, Marvel also released a new “Avengers: Endgame” trailer, following the film’s first official trailer released back in December.
The events of “Captain Marvel” take place in the 1990s, before the events of “Avengers: Infinity War” and other MCU installments. Tickets for the movie are already on sale through Fandango and Atom tickets, so if you want to go on opening day, you might want to grab them early.
