One of A24’s next big releases is “High Life,” a drama-thriller scheduled to hit theaters on April 12th. The film boasts an all-star cast, including Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Andre Benjamin, and Mia Goth and comes from director Claire Denis, who co-wrote the script with Jean-Pol Fargeau.
In the story, Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his baby daughter are the last survivors of a damned and dangerous mission to deep space. The crew, all death-row inmates led by a doctor (Juliette Binoche) with sinister motives, has vanished. As the mystery of what happened onboard the ship is unraveled, father and daughter must rely on each other to survive as they hurtle toward the oblivion of a black hole.
April will be a busy month at the box office this year. STX is leading off the month with Robin Bissell’s drama “The Best of Enemies” with Taraji P. Henson, Sam Rockwell, Anne Heche, Wes Bentley, John Gallagher Jr., and Bruce McGill. That same weekend is the release of “Shazam!” and the reboot of “Pet Semetary.”
The following week is the release of “Hellboy” and “After,” as well as the comedy “Little” and the animated-comedy “Missing Link” from Annapurna Pictures. Towards the end of the month films will have to battle the Warner Bros. Pictures’ horror-thriller “The Curse of La Llorona,” and the drama from FOX called “Breakthrough” with Chrissy Metz and Topher Grace.
All of these films will have to collect their winnings and clear our of the theaters quickly though, since Marvel’s “Avenger’s Endgame” is expected to release at the end of the month on April 26th.
A24 will release “High Life” in theaters on April 12, 2019.
