Netflix is still expanding the company’s comic book adaptations, and this week, Netflix confirmed that Chris McKay will direct “Reborn.”

The new project comes from the Millarworld comic books, and the adaptation will be a feature film exclusive to the service. Netflix acquired Millar’s company, Millarworld in 2017 and since then has been developing projects with Mark and Lucy Millar.

Fans might know Chris McKay best from his work on “The Lego Batman Movie” and the Adult Swim series “Robot Chicken.” McKay also produced “The Lego Ninjago Movie.”

McKay is just about to launch “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part ” with Warner Bros. Pictures, a film that he served as Executive Producer.

Netflix described “Reborn” in today’s announcement adding, “Where do we go when we die? What’s waiting for us on the other side? Eighty-year old Bonnie Black finds out when she passes away in a Manhattan hospital and opens her eyes in the world of Adystria, a magical land of monsters and dragons where good and evil are waging an eternal war. Reborn in the prime of her life, she finds all her old friends and loved ones waiting… except the husband who died before her. Armed with a sword and partnered with her late father, she sets off through this battle-torn landscape on a quest to find out where he is.”

“The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” reunites the heroes of Bricksburg in an all-new adventure to save their beloved city. It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are now facing a new threat: LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than it can be rebuilt.

The battle to defeat them and restore harmony to the LEGO universe will take Emmet, Lucy, Batman, and their friends to far away, unexplored worlds, including a galaxy filled with fantastic planets, strange characters and catchy news songs.

The film stars Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Maya Rudolph.
