Sony Pictures gave Spider-Man fans a first-look at “Spider-Man: Far From Home” this morning, offering the film’s first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated follow up to “Spider-Man: Home Coming.” The new Spidey adventure will hit theaters on July 5th and fans of the web-slinger can watch the quick teaser below.
In the new chapter, our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. It’s not long before Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is ruined when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent.
Jon Watts directed the new Spider-Man adventure, which also features Zendaya, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Cobie Smulders. Fans probably remember that Watts also directed “Spider-Man: Homecoming” and should be excited to see roughly the same team reunite for the new film.
The latest chapter will want to top the original’s box-office numbers, but the first film set a pretty high bar. The initial release in the Sony/Marvel partnership hit theaters back in 2017 and had a $117M opening weekend before going on to make over $334M domestically and over $880M worldwide. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” featured Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Robert Downey Jr., Donald Glover, Zendaya, and Marisa Tomei.

“Spider-Man: Far From Home” will be the first time we’ve seen Spider-Man on-screen since “Avengers: Infinity War,” which made over $257M on opening weekend before making $669M domestically. The Marvel giant made over $2B worldwide.
