The third “Captain Marvel” trailer is out, and it’s one of the best ones yet. Tickets for the event went live earlier this evening, and the trailer is the latest tease for the big March release from the MCU.
“Captain Marvel” is the first woman-led superhero movie from Marvel, and fans around the world have been waiting for the film for over a year now. Viewers will get the regular shots of Captain Marvel in the new trailer, displaying some of her incredible powers and dispatching baddies, along with quick shots of Nick Fury. Don’t forget about Mar-Vell, which is being played by Jude Law; you will find him in the trailer as well.
Longtime Marvel moviegoers will find a few S.H.I.E.L.D. callbacks since the film takes place in the 1990s. Fans will find Samuel L. Jackson and Clark Gregg in their returning roles. Joining Larson, Law, and Jackson in the cast are Ben Mendolsohn, Annette Bening, and Gemma Chan.
You can watch the third official trailer below.
“Captain Marvel” was directed by the writing/directing team of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and the screenplay was written by Meg LeFauve, Nicole Perlman, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch, along with Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.
As we mentioned earlier when advanced tickets first went on sale, “Captain Marvel” has a chance to top the March box office, but it will be a tough battle. The biggest opening weekend for the month of March was Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” back in 2017, the film made over $174.7M over its opening weekend. Second-place belongs to “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” with $166M, and “The Hunger Games” remains in third-place with its $152.5M opening weekend.
“Captain Marvel” will release in theaters on March 8, 2019.
