The organizers behind Coachella confirmed the lineup for this year’s event this week. Interested attendees and streamers will find some pretty big acts on the list this year, including Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande, but will also notice that Kanye West has dropped out of this year’s show. While it may be a bummer that West decided not to attend the event this year, it worked out pretty well for music fans. Not only will everyone get to see Gambino and Grande, but Tame Impala is also taking the stage. The confirmation came on Twitter, showing the list of acts that will be hitting the various stages over the six days.
Childish Gambino will be the headliner for the first day of the desert festival, Tame Impala is the headlining act for the second day, and Ariana Grande will be the closer for the event. Grande follows Beyonce and Bjork as only the third woman to headline the event in ten years. Speaking of Beyonce, she might be in attendance since her sister Solange is scheduled to hit the stage during the second day. Other acts include Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves, Billie Eilish, Ella Mai, H.E.R., Maggie Rogers and Christine and the Queens. If you are attending, you can also look for Bad Bunny, The 1975, Weezer, Zedd, Diplo, Khalid, CHVRCHES, Mac DeMarco, Pusha T, J Balvin, DJ Snake, Jaden Smith, Idris Elba, Virgil Abloh, Kid Cudi, Aphex Twin, Jon Hopkins, and other acts.
Just like other years, Coachella will run over two weekends. The first weekend is between April 12th and April 14th; things will pick up again on April 19th and run through the 21st.
If you are planning on attending this year, grab your sunscreen and dust mask and purchase your tickets on January 4th starting at 11 a.m.
