‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Conjures up More Episodes
Even more adventures of Sabrina are on the way
The “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” will continue on Netflix. The company has ordered an additional two parts of the popular series, giving fans 16 more episodes to look forward to streaming over the next two-years. The new episodes will once again be split into two parts, just as Netflix did with the initial order of the series. “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” doesn’t go by traditional seasons; instead, Netflix organizes the story by Parts.
If everything goes according to schedule, Part 3 and Part 4 will begin production in 2019, the new episodes from Part 2 of the show will premiere on Netflix on April 5, 2019. Be sure to set a reminder to catch them on Netflix if you’re a fan.
The “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” which just released a holiday episode this month, imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. The series is a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult, and witchcraft. The adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
The series stars Kiernan Shipka, as well as Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, Bronson Pinchot, and Gavin Leatherwood.
Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who also serves as chief creative officer of Archie Comics, penned the script for the series. Aguirre-Sacasa also executive produces alongside Riverdale collaborators Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger. The drama comes from Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions.
Sabrina fans will have to wait until April to get the new episodes in Part 2, but they should be happy to know that at least two more Parts are on the way. Netflix stopped short of confirming a premiere date for the new newly ordered episodes, but the video streaming service will likely release new teaser trailers for the show when production gets underway.
