Netflix’s “Alexa & Katie” dropped a Season 2 trailer for fans this morning. The show started out following two best friends getting ready to start their freshman year of high school, but this time they are going into their sophomore year. The new season is scheduled to hit Netflix in just over a week, and everyone can get a preview of the new adventures below.

In the show, Alexa (Paris Berelc – Mighty Med, Lab Rats: Elite Force) is undergoing cancer treatment, but she never loses her outgoing personality and enthusiasm for life. Alexa is partnered up with her best friend Katie (newcomer Isabel May) by her side.

Netflix describes the duo stating, “At times they’re left feeling like outsiders, during a period when what seems to matter most is fitting in.”

Tiffani Thiessen (White Collar, Saved By The Bell) also stars as Lori, Alexa’s determined and protective mother.

As we mentioned earlier, the second season of this multi-camera sitcom follows the best friends through their sophomore year of high school. Alexa and Katie tackle the challenges of high school and the lingering complications of Alexa’s cancer with the comfort of knowing that together, they can get through anything.

Heather Wordham (Hannah Montana, Reba) created the show with Matthew Carlson (Malcolm In The Middle, Samantha Who?) serving as showrunner. Netflix released the trailer on social-media early Monday morning for fans, they can watch the official trailer below.

“Alexa & Katie: Season 2” is set to launch on Netflix on Dec 26th; the new season will feature Paris Berelc, Isabel May, Tiffani Thiessen, Emery Kelly, Jolie Jenkins, Eddie Shin, Finn Carr, Jack Griffo, and Kerri Medders. The series will give fans something to stream over the holiday break, when most network stations are stuck airing reruns and holiday specials.
