‘Overwatch Winter Wonderland’ Event Goes Live
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
It’s that time of the year again, the time to put on your festive holiday skins and jump into the “Overwatch: Winter Wonderland” player event. Blizzard’s popular holiday event is going live today on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and the publisher has a new trailer to show off the locations, games, and skins that players can find in their loot boxes. It’s only running for a limited time, so grab some snowballs and hit the ice.
The Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 seasonal event went live for platforms after a few weeks of teasing from Blizzard, the publisher has been slowly previewing the new skins on social-media that players will want to collect while playing the game. As with any event, the Winter Wonderland will give players a massive amount of new skins, emotes, cosmetic changes, and tags. You can also jump into the popular Yeti Hunt event and the Snowball event in the arcade. Those modes are a nice change if you don’t feel like playing ranked or quick play matches.
Not only do the heroes get a makeover for the holidays, a few maps will also get a wintry blast. Blizzard World, Hanamura, King’s Row, and more will get some snowy additions for the holiday event, though most of the map stays the same for balancing issues. A few of the better skins this time around include the new Windowmaker, Sugar Plum Mercy, the Krampus Junkrat, and a packaged Bastion.
It’s a pretty great event and a nice change of pace if you have been grinding away in the ranked seasonal matches for the last few weeks. The new event also brings back an influx of players, so you should be able to join a game pretty quickly. Fans of the game can get into the spirit and watch the Overwatch Winter Wonderland trailer that was released earlier today.
