It has been a long time since Netflix teased anything from “Stranger Things” but the company released a video tonight that is sure to get the fan-base in a whirlwind. Netflix’s new teaser for the highly-anticipated third season of “Stranger Things” was released late Sunday night, and the video gives us a release window and some episode titles. The last time we heard anything from the “Stranger Things” crew was back in July, when we got an invitation to stop by the Starcourt Mall with a throwback style promotional video.
According to the video, the third season will release in 2019. If we go by the previous years, the most likely launch date would be between October and December, but Netflix likes to surprise viewers. The big reveal with the trailer was the episode titles for the third season. The titles are: “Suzie, Do You Copy?,” “The Mall Rats,” “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard,” “The Sauna Test,” “The Source,” “The Birthday,” “The Bite,” and “The Battle of Starcourt.”
There are two mall references in the titles, and since the only other promotional video we have seen for the new season was about the Starcourt Mall itself, it looks like that location will play a major part in the story. The official description for the third season reads “In the summer of 1985, the adventure continues.” Fans of the show can watch the teaser below.
So we know the year will be 1985 and at least some of it will take place at the local mall, that’s about it for now. As for the third-season launch date, we will have to wait for more teasers from Netflix before making an announcement.
The cast for the third season includes Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton. The episodes should also include Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery, the crew that joined up in the second season of the show.
