The never ending battle to the death in “Mortal Kombat” will continue with “Mortal Kombat 11” in 2019. The developers confirmed that the new installment to the popular fighting game franchise will release worldwide on April 23, 2019, so you won’t even have to wait that long to play the new installment. The release date was confirmed by co-creator Ed Boon during The Game Awards late Thursday night, and the company released a graphic trailer to get fans excited for the big release.
The next installment in the “Mortal Kombat” franchise launches globally on April 23, series co-creator Ed Boon announced during The Game Awards on Thursday. There will also be community events and player-trailers released before launch day to highlight the game.
In the official description the publisher teases, “Mortal Kombat is back and better than ever in the next evolution of the iconic franchise.” The company continues, “The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.”
The song in the Mortal Kombat 11 is “Immortal” by 21 Savage, an original work. The developers are expected to share more about the game during a community event for fans on January 17th, so set a reminder to catch the next big announcements.
