Epic Games had a surprise announcement for players today, confirming the arrival of the Fortnite Creative mode and the start of Season 7. The new experience will become available on December 6th and will coincide with the launch of Fortnite Season 7 on the same day.
According to the developer’s announcement, Fortnite Creative lets players design games and battle friends in new ways. You’ll also be able to customize and build the Fortnite of your dreams, without having to jump to your base to do it. It all happens on your own private island, where everything you make is saved and ready to be shown off. It’s a perfect design for streamers, who can jump into the world and create a fantasy fort for their viewers, or show some useful tips and tricks for DYI building.
The company also confirmed that Season 7 Battle Pass owners will have access to their own private island for the first week of Season 7, just another reason to stack up those V-Bucks. During this early access week, Battle Pass owners can invite their friends to play on their island. If you don’t have a battle pass, don’t worry, on December 13th all players will have access to a private island for free. So if you don’t have any money left over from buying up the popular Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle, you can rest assured you won’t have to spend any money to get this new mode.
Epic Games released a quick promotional video for the new mode today on social-media, fans can watch that video below.
Whether you play early or play when the game-mode launches for everyone, it seems like it will be a fun experience. The news comes just one day after Epic Games announced that it will be creating its own Epic Games Store to compete with Steam, filled with third-party titles for PCs and Macs.
