If you are in the mood to see “Avengers: Infinity War” again, you will be able to watch the film on Netflix starting next month. One of the last films scheduled to release on Netflix before Disney’s new streaming service takes control, “Avengers: Infinity War” is coming to the video-streaming platform on December 25th.
The film was a monumental success at the box office, starting off with a $257M domestic opening weekend. The Avengers installment then went on to make over $678M domestically before grossing over $2B worldwide. The only other film to make more domestically this year was “Black Panther,” another Marvel powerhouse. That film had a $202M opening weekend and made over $700M domestically before grossing $1.3B worldwide.
We still don’t know the title of the next Avengers movie, though fans have put out dozens of possibilities. We will just have to wait until Marvel decides to pull back the curtain on the next big film.
“Avengers: Infinity War” was directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and the film featured almost anyone that had a speaking role in the previous Marvel movies. The cast includes: Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Anthony Mackie, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Josh Brolin, Don Cheadle, Sebastian Stan, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Tom Hiddleston, Peter Dinklage, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper (Voice), Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel (Voice), William Hurt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Benicio Del Toro.
As for Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, that is scheduled to begin sometime in 2019. It will eventually become the hub for all new Star Wars, Pixar, Walt Disney, and Marvel content, but Disney is still being pretty vague about launch details and content. We don’t have a price for the subscription service yet, though Disney has confirmed that two live-action “Star Wars” series are being planned, and that several Marvel projects are also coming to the service. It was confirmed that one of them will be following Loki, and it will star Tom Hiddleston.
