FOX’s “Deadpool 2” is returning to theaters next month, this time with a special PG-13 cut of the film designed for younger audiences. The new version of the film is going by the title “Once Upon a Deadpool” and the trailer has Fred Savage all tied up in bed.

The new video shows how the Deadpool story is being re-told, with Savage reliving his role from the 1987 classic “The Princess Bride,” but this time he’s tied to the bed with Deadpool reading him the plot. The original version of this scene had a young Fred Savage listening to a story being read from his loving grandfather, played by Peter Falk, but this time Deadpool will have to do the heavy lifting.

“Once Upon a Deadpool” is also getting into the holiday spirit to help cancer research. Each ticket sold for the new version of the film will raise $1 for “Fudge Cancer”. The film will be released in theaters over the holidays for 12 days starting on December 12th and running up through Christmas Eve. “Once Upon a Deadpool” stars Ryan Reynolds, Zazie Beetz, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, Julian Dennison, Josh Brolin and Fred Savage.

Fans of Deadpool can watch the trailer below, the re-telling serves as a great way for kids to see the film if their parents thought that the original’s R-rating was just too much. The film will have some competition at the box office, since “Mortal Engines,” “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” “Aquaman,” “Bumblebee,” and “Mary Poppins Returns” are all releasing in theaters while “Once Upon a Deadpool” makes it run at the box office.

The original cut of “Deadpool 2” brought in over $125M across 4,349 locations nationwide on its opening weekend. The original “Deadpool” released back in 2016, the film’s $132M opening weekend set a new ‘R-Rated’ record, and the film went on to gross over $363M worldwide for the studio.
