It has only been a few weeks since “Big Mouth: Season 2” released on Netflix but the company has already confirmed that the animated-series will return for a third-season. The previous season released on Netflix on October 5th and has been a hit with critics and fans on social-media.

Netflix made the announcement on the company’s social-media accounts this afternoon, telling followers, “Puberty is getting messier. @bigmouth Season 3 is coming soon.” The video-streaming service stopped short of announcing a premiere date, so we will have to wait for the Season 3 teasers to come out later next year.

The half-hour adult animated-comedy is from real-life best friends Nick Kroll (Kroll Show, The League) and Andrew Goldberg (Family Guy). The show details the glorious nightmare that is teenaged puberty and all of the wonderful and truly awful moments that puberty comes with. Comedian John Mulaney (John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid, Saturday Night Live) lends his voice to the character of Andrew, while Kroll (who serves as co-creator, executive producer) voices many other characters including best friend Nick.

Maya Rudolph (Maya & Marty, Bridesmaids), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Lady Dynamite), Jordan Peele (Keanu, Key and Peele), Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Documentary Now!), Jenny Slate (Girls, Lady Dynamite) and Jessi Klein (Inside Amy Schumer) are among those who also lend their voice to the series.

The show is often hilarious and often times hard to watch, mostly because the events in the series hit very close to home. Laughter brings closure, so I recommend putting all of those anxious teenage memories to bed with a little comedy. Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg and screenwriter-directors Mark Levin & Jennifer Flackett are all creators and executive producers on the series. Big Mouth is a Netflix production.

Nick Kroll is also lending his voice to an animated adaptation of “The Addams Family” in 2019. That film will be directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon, and features the voice talents of Chloë Grace Moretz, Charlize Theron, Allison Janney, Finn Wolfhard, Bette Midler, Oscar Isaac, Aimee Garcia, Elsie Fisher, and Scott Underwood.
