‘Fortnite Halloween Event’ Goes Live With Trailer
Grab your candy and save the day
The ‘Fortnite Halloween Event’ is going live this week and the developers are adding new spooky elements to Battle Royale Mode and Save the World Mode to coincide with the haunting holiday. The popular title is always adding new content to keep players coming back for more, but the latest patch blends the two modes in a way that only Fortnite can.
Called ‘Fortnitemares’ the new content is perfect for players that would like to celebrate the holiday from the comfort of the couch. This is actually Fortnite’s first official Halloween event, though fall and Halloween items have found their way into the game in the past. When you log in, you’ll find the new spooky content available to you and the event will run through November 26th. During the Halloween Event, you can unlock a wide-array of new cosmetics and take part in spooktacular challenges. There are also new Limited Time Modes and subtle changes to the game’s maps to discover.
All of this goes live with the big 6.20 Update that you will have to download. The update isn’t just cosmetic changes, there are also new changes to Battle Royale and new characters to grab and other changes. In the patch notes the developers describe the Cube monsters and changes in Battle Royale adding:
“During Fortnitemares, you’ll face off against Cube Monsters in a whole new way of playing Battle Royale. There are new weapons to fight back against these creepy creatures, like the Six Shooter and Fiend Hunter Crossbow. Take out the Cube Fiends and Fragments to pick up loot, and survive against enemy players.” The post continues, “Make sure you’re lookin’ good while the darkness descends and pick up the new Deadfire Outfit. This new type of reactive outfit features in-match progression, giving you a way to show off your skills in style. The outfit will progress through 2 styles based on the damage you deal enemies (players and AI) and how long you last in a match. Deadfire also comes with the Shackled Stone Back Bling and you can pick up his matching Dark Shard pickaxe in the store, both of these are reactive cosmetics.”
‘Save the World’ players will also get new content, you can watch the promotional trailer below for the new content.
‘Fortnite’ is the big-ticket game this holiday season, once again we should add. Nintendo has been promoting the Nintendo Switch Fortnite Bundle which is available now, and Microsoft has the Xbox One S Fortnite Bundle for players on that console. The game will also have the Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle this year, which will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and the Xbox One starting on November 13th. Players can also purchase and download the Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle digitally through the in-game store and first-party digital marketplaces.
