Matthew McConaughey has picked his next big feature, Miramax CEO, Bill Block, confirmed that the Academy Award-winner will star in Guy Ritchie’s new film, “Toff Guys”. The film will feature Matthew McConaughey, Henry Golding, and Kate Beckinsale. Ritchie wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson and will direct the film.

“McConaughey as the inside outsider with Henry and Kate will make for a thrilling Guy Ritchie ride,” said CEO Bill Block.

According to the studio’s announcement, “Toff Guys” will “explore the collision between old money European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex with new gang entrants swarming”.

Fans of Matthew McConaughey will get to see him in the film “Serenity” when the project hits theaters in January. That film was written and directed by Steven Knight and stars Diane Lane, Matthew McConaughey, and Anne Hathaway. McConaughey is also set to star in the film “The Beach Bum,” from writer and director Harmony Korine. “The Beach Bum” will star Matthew McConaughey, Snoop Dogg, and Isla Fisher and is expected to hit theaters in March 2019.

As for “Toff Guys,” the film is being shot in England. Bob Osher (COO and General Counsel) and Matthew Anderson (VP of Development & Production, Film & TV) will be supervising on behalf of Miramax. As the film moves along into production we will know the supporting cast and probably get a few teaser trailers from the studio.

McConaughey’s latest film, “White Boy Rick,” stumbled when in theaters earlier this year and the film split audiences and critics. The film earned a 59% on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 55%. “White Boy Rick” had an $8.6M opening, during a time when “The Predator,” “The Nun,” and “A Simple Favor” were dominating the box office, and only made $24M overall. Before that McConaughey starred in Sony Pictures‘ “The Dark Tower,” which made $19M on opening weekend before going on to gross over $113M worldwide.
