Jennifer Garner’s ‘Peppermint’ Goes Digital in November
Garner is out for revenge
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has set a Digital Release date for the revenge thriller “Peppermint” with Jennifer Garner. The film will first release on Digital HD on November 20th, then on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and On Demand on December 11th. It may not be your typical holiday movie, but it is all about family – and revenge.
The film was directed by Pierre Morel (Taken, The Gunman) and stars Golden Globe winner Jennifer Garner (“Alias,” Juno), John Ortiz (Silver Linings Playbook, American Gangster), John Gallagher, Jr. (10 Cloverfield Lane, Hush), Juana Pablo Raba (The 33, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) and Annie Ilonzeh (“Person of Interest,” “Arrow”). Up against some seriously tough competition last September, “Peppermint” still did very well in theaters. The film debuted in second place with a $13M opening weekend, behind “The Nun,” and made over $35M domestically in theaters. The film went on to make over $41M worldwide for the studio.
In the film, young mother Riley North (Garner) awakens from a coma after her husband and daughter are killed in a brutal attack on the family. The studio teases the story adding, “When the system frustratingly shields the murderers from justice, Riley sets out to transform herself from citizen to urban guerrilla. Channeling her frustration into personal motivation, she spends years in hiding honing her mind, body and spirit to become an unstoppable force – eluding the underworld, the LAPD and the FBI – as she methodically delivers her personal brand of justice.”
Fans of Jennifer Garner can see her in HBO’s “Camping” with David Tennant and Juliette Lewis, that project is from Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.
