‘True Detective’ Season 3 to Premiere in January
HBO sets a dae for True Detective
HBO has finally set a date for “True Detective: Season 3,” with the new episodes starting this January. The network confirmed the release date earlier today, while also offering a synopsis of the new story line.
According to HBO’s announcement, “True Detective: Season 3” will premiere on HBO on January 13th, exclusively on HBO. The other episodes will air on Sundays, so clear your schedule to stay on top of the spoilers.
According to HBO, the new season tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Mahershala Ali stars as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.
Carmen Ejogo and Stephen Dorff are also set to star in the series, which was created by Nic Pizzolatto.
HBO first teased the new season back in August, offering a quick teaser-trailer to get fans excited for the new episodes.
The first season of the show is still the crowd-favorite, released in 2014 the original season featured Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Season two got mixed reviews from fans and critics, that installment featured Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn. If you missed the teaser trailer that was released back in August, you can watch the one-minute preview below thanks to a quick upload from HBO.
Once more, if you want to set a reminder to watch the big premiere of “True Detective: Season 3,” the new episode is set to debut on January 13, 2019. We still have a few more months of waiting before the show returns to HBO with new episodes, in the meantime you can rewatch season 1 or season 2, and we will probably get a few teaser-trailers to examine between now and then. HBO fans also have “The Deuce: Season 2” to keep them busy, and we are all waiting on that Series Finale of “Game of Thrones” next year.
