‘Shadow of the Tomb Raider’ Names First DLC Expansion ‘The Forge’
The floor is actually lava
Square Enix announced the first DLC expansion for “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” and it’s called “The Forge”. In the new DLC, Lara must brave the lava-flooded Forge of the fallen gods to uncover the secrets of Kuwaq Yaku. We don’t have a trailer for the new DLC yet, but the developers did announce a release date for the big expansion.
The publisher described the DLC in their announcement adding, “Throughout her journey, Lara will uncover details about a friend’s ancient legacy, and overcome a danger long thought to be lost in flame. “The Forge” delivers a brand-new challenge tomb, playable in both solo and co-op. Players who complete the challenge tomb will be rewarded with the Grenadier skill, Brocken outfit, and Umbrage 3-80 weapon.”
A completely new adventure, “The Forge” is the first of seven monthly DLC adventures available through the Season Pass, providing players with new content, challenge tombs, co-op experiences, weapons and outfits, Score Attack and Time Attack modes, and additional narrative side missions. That should be plenty of content to get us through the new year, just as even more games join our backlog.
The announcement came earlier today from Square Enix, Eidos-Montréal, and Crystal Dynamics, the DLC will be available as a free download to all Season Pass holders but will also be sold separately for anyone that chose not to do the season pass. As for a release date, “The Forge” will launch worldwide on November 13th for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you haven’t picked up the game yet, In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Lara must trades the icy mountain tops for a deadly jungle. Once again Lara is jumping into terrifying tombs, and is on a race to save the world from a Maya apocalypse.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is available now worldwide on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 right here on Amazon, and you can grab the Windows PC version on Steam. The Season Pass is available for $29.99 or “The Forge” can be purchased as a standalone for $4.99.
